I have a question,which company has the best side imaging depth finders,Hummingbird or lowrance?Can anyone help?

I think the "best" is really a more personal thing however I think it comes down to what size your looking for. For the 5" screens the lowrance to me has a better display & the menu is easier to navigate however if your looking to go larger the Humminbird 997 is a good choice. The longer (wider) screen allows you to get your side imaging & map up at the same time and its not crowded. I have tried the same thing w/ the HDS 8 & to me it just doesnt work as well, visually speaking. I would find a buddy who has one on a boat you can play with so you can make the best decision.
Also for the price the Lowrance Mark-5x DSI is a really good buy at less than 300.00...
