I have been running my little john boat for years off of either quicksilver or pennsoil. Now I am fixin to buy a used Stratos with a 150 Evenrude on it. The boat and motor are 1987 models and have been taken real good care of. Now my question I want that motor to last awhile so which oil should I use?

Also Champion man the boat has not really been run in over 5 years. So how should I start out with the oil mixture. It has oil injection, but I was told by a friend that I should run doulble oil for a short while after I get it.

Thanks James

If the gas is that old in the tanks take it our and feed it to the fire ants, LOL. I would run Rude XD-50 in it. You need to drain the oil tank also as the oil would probably be gelling. I know you probably don't want to spend any money getting it ready to go, but for about a C-note I'll get you ready and checked out for the season. There is more to is than just gas and go. I'm not trying to make any $$ just trying to prevent any problems for you.

How long will it take and what is a c-note? I don't mind speding the money. I am getting it for a song for the shape it is in. I have waited a long time for this boat so I want to keep it in good shape.
