I installed a full set of Trojan batteries in my boat about 2 years ago. Dealer specifically warned me NOT to use the nylon lock nuts as they would void the warranty. He said the nylon is so tough that it can literally pull out a terminal when tightening them down the first time. I found that running a bolt all the way through them before installing on the battery effectively tapped threads into the nylon so it isn't such a strain to screw them on. They still hold very tight, but they are much easier to put on.
