Do you have to have the Lowrance card reader to download and update software for the LMS 480?

I got a MMC reader at wal-mart for $20. I t does the job perfect. Then you just have to download java if you don't have it.

I was in Bass Pro on Saturday in Orlando and they said there was a new version of the mapping software... MapCreate ver 6 is mine I think... so the new one must be 7 or something.

let me know if you hear anything as Bass Pro didn't have it in stock.

yep the 7 is the new version, but I don't know how its different than the 6. Probably new and inproved just like everything else that comes out with a new version.
