hi i have a e tec 2004 225 on a stratos boat it has a charger on board that charges the cranking battery's when the moter is running it has a black an red thats on the power soursr an a purple does the purple wire have to be connect mine is not has the 3 feet waves made it disconect thanks steve

Yes that purple wire needs to be connected to the ignition switch's On post. I provides B+ or 12V switched back to the charger.
