I have a 6'6" top water special and the only thing it works well with is popping type baits and then IMO it is still a little weak. I was a big time All-Star guy and have 14 or so Platinum’s and Titanium’s. I fished a Kistler Helium last year and am now in the process or getting rid of all my All-Stars and swapping them out with Helium’s. The Kistlers are allot lighter and if I am going to spend 150+ on a rod it better have a good warranty. Since Shakespeare bought out All-Star a few years back you now get a 3 year warranty on any rod. Kistler like Loomis are lifetime!!!! The HE66MC from Kistler is the perfect rod for top water baits epically spooks and Sammies. Not to mention it is one heck of a hard jerk bait rod.

After my order fell through, on the CrazyFish rods that I ordered, I bought a 6'10" Shimano Crucial, fast tip, medium action, that really works the sammies and spooks and stayed with my 6'6" fenwick, medium for the pop "r"s--------also picked up a 6'6" Crucial, extra fast ,medium heavy, that I ""LOVE"" for a fluke rod
put the new style Curado 200 DHSV on both of them, and can throw em' a mile too ---the new Shimano Crucials have a lifetime"over the counter" warrantty---and Dewayne at portronics will swap the Fenwicks, over the counter ,if you have a problem- ------good luck Monk

6'9'' Compre best one out of all of my 2 dozen different sticks for chunkin a gunfish or spook jr by far

St Croix SCIII Medium Action XFast tip. Try to beat the distance and I love the way the rod loads when working the bait.

I am using the 6'2" version because I got tired of smacking the tip on the side of the boat working a topwater.

def allstar 6' 6'' medium fast. especially for lucky craft sammies and lucky craft g splash poppers.

I really like the custom made rods by ALX. He builds them to your spec. and very good product at a good price. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. i have had no problem with them but I know he stands behind them. Just because he calls to check how they are doing and checks to see if I am having any problem with them. To this day, no problems!
