Hello,

A quick summary on getting rid of ants.

Sprinkle cayenne pepper near the source of the ants.
Spray lemon water solution near high-traffic ant areas.
Spray vinegar solution where you commonly come across ants.
Try spraying dish soap solution near the ant source.
Use food-grade Diatomaceous Earth.

I, for one, welcome out new ant overlords. Kidding aside, spraying them with with a lemon juice solution actually worked for me. And it smells much nicer than vinegar.

Hello,

Fire ants can't be eliminated entirely because it's not possible to treat all areas that are infested. Thus the goal of current integrated pest management programs is to suppress fire ants as much as possible with biological control methods.
