My thoughts...
I do not know if I can rank why I fish the tournaments I do. The competition is first but after that things are about equal. To fish the larger entry fees you have to do well in order to keep doing it unless you have plenty of money. I do try to choose trails that have a Championship out of the area and in the fall. When you get out of this area people fish differently and not near as many are doing what I want to do. (unless they are from around here!) And, I have done the best in the fall since the early 80's so that is my best time. I do enjoy the forums tournaments I get to fish. I enjoy fishing by myself and do not have a problem sharing the patterns I used if I happen to get them. But, honestly I do shy away from fishing with many people I do not know real well simply because I have been burned too many times with someone giving up particular places. These have usually been out of the way cranking spots or isolated rock piles in open water. The draw format trails can hurt you if you fish the same lakes alot that the draw trail fishes.
I have no desire anymore to fish full time. I do not think I can be an adequate husband and father and stay on the road like those guys do. Maybe when I retire but not now. And, I would hate to have to catch them in order to pay bills. There would be no fun in that.
Best trail I have fished was probably Jerry Rhynes team trail. It was highly competitive, most always full, and there was a boat for first or second place.

That is good feedback. Regarding the boat. As a director on a fast growing trail we have had two sides on that. Which would you rather fish for a boat or cash. With a boat the pot always looks larger because of the value of the boat and what is paid for at different just common since. The flip on that is you have to sell it since most of us already have one and then you are hit with the value as far as taxes go. Never won one so can't really say how you come out but was wondering which is better. Hopefully and God willing we will be at that point real soon and don't want to make a mistake. Want to make my fisherman happy if you know what I mean. It really doesn't matter to me, just wondering?

I think (though there has not been 1 vote cast yet) quite a few FTF members are interested in the great payoff and 1 for 5. The lure of a new boat is good too but you already have a unique/exclusive trail and it's doing well. Keep the money flowing! (at least until Jimbo & I get a pot )

That is one bad avatar for sure. Actually had to put my glasses on to look at it. I swear, I have a squirrel out in the back yard that looks just like him that we have been feeding all winter. An old wild cat thought he would be having a squirrel dinner bout two weeks ago but the cat got a learning experience. We saw the fight and the cat was the one running to get up a tree with was another mistake because all it did was jump out of the fryin pan and into the fire because he went up into the old squirrels turf at that point and the old squirrel went up the tree after the cat and made the cat jump out of the tree from a pretty good ways up. Ain't seen the cat no more but old squirrel still comes and get acorns and walnuts out of the feeder every day................
