I normally go a good bit, but since I bought my new boat I havent had time to rig it up. The best advice I can give you is to go at night. I started with a few flood lights I stole off the house and a power inverter running off the battery, and then graduated to a 3000 watt generator with 4 500 watt halogen flood lights covering all around the front deck. Pick any cove you want, throw the trollng motor on high, follow the shoreline and just stay as deep as you can while still barely being able to see the bottom. You will see a lot of carp that way. And as for shooting, AIM LOW!!! Aim so low that you think you might hit the boat. And never pass up one of the blue million coke and beer cans you see. Great practice and you get to help clean the lake up as well. I go by myself most of the time (most of my friends prefer to be at the bar instead of on the lake), so once I get rerigged I'll let you know and see if I can help you get started.
