It s a common occurance in the Upstate. Most fees are 4 bucks but some places are more expensive

There are very few places to put in around Hartwell that you don't have to pay to use. You can buy a annual pass for $30 that is good at all non State run places. You still have to pay a fee in the State parks. I think its $2 per person.

we have some pay ramps at park and recreation areas which are Corps fees of $4.00 and then we have a lot of free accesses. The Corps charges at the recreations areas for the swimming beach's and picnic areas for clean up because of the slobs that can't clean up after themselves and the areas look like pigs have been there every weekend. We can also buy passes for yearly entries at all pay ramps for $30. Alot of the Marinas began charging for ramp fees and then charging to park in the lots also if you were not a slip renter. Well, that dog only hunted for a couple months before some bass anglers went ballistic on the Corps about not only being charged to launch but parking also. Corps contacted the Marina owners and informed them that it would not be permitted to charge for parking and the Marinas owners said that they did not get the launch fees because it went to Corps and yet their parking spaces were being taken up by Bass boat trailers and Slip renters didn't have any places to park. Corps did some checking and found out that not one dime of the money collected for launch fees had been recieved from any Marinas and then they discovered that it had never been authorized for Marinas to even be charging for launching because they don't have picnic areas and they don't have swimming beach's so they are not suppose to charge in the first place. So now Marinas don't get to charge for either one......... Greed will get ya caught every time..............
