I want to use a jig more but lack the confidence. I have more confidence in a Texas rig. Are there any tips on a particular retrieve or presentation?

Largest Bass of my fishing career(8.75lbs)and Barret has a(8.5lbs) has come on the jig Bk/Blue in 3/8oz can't remember the name brand I got them at a Expo in Raleigh a few yaer ago. Its a bait that onehas to work with alot to get the feel of it. Those fish will hit and sometimes you don't know they're there until it to late to set the hook.(Watch your line as the lure falland set the hook if it move.)I try to keep my rod in the 9 to 10 o'clock so I can get a good hard hook set, because most time the hook will set in the top lip or the top part of the mouth and these are hard area the get a good hook set in.Mind you some of them you can't take it from them and other will have it and move along with the jig as if your move it. I us a 7.5 Blade BPS MH with a 4600CB reel and 17 to 20 lbs test line(mono). My two cent. Wal-Mart FLW jig are working well for us also! Hope this helps and if you like the T-rig the jig will work for you. Only thing you have to do is fsih it and practice, your fish will come.
God bless all.
