I have a chance to buy a 1994 Yamaha ProV 175. This motor was bought new in 1998 and has sat idle since 2008. We got it cranked but only let in run couple of seconds because did not have water connected. Am going back next week with hose connector to run more. I am going to check compression and already checked lower unit for water, found none.
Would any of you be concerned about the rings being bad in this engine from sitting for 3 years? I know the guy pretty good and know that the engine has low hours.
Thanks for any feedback.
