Just got back from a northern central Kansas pheasant hunt. Went to Cabela's in Kansas City on the way there and back and also went to "The" Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Missouri on the way back as well. Drove a little over 3000 miles in week and our group only got about 20 - 25 birds. The Kansas Wildlife Agency was predicting a bad year for pheasants and they were right. Saw plenty of hawks though..... if the amount of game we saw is any prediction of the population of hawks... then the hawk population is going to take a sharpe nose dive down population wise. There wasn't any game for them to eat. All in all, had a good trip and didn't have to refinance the house when I got back... so I call that a succesful trip.

Were ya'll in an area where ya'll could have tried any waterfowl ???? I know the Dakota's, Nebraska, and Kansas are quickly losing their 'secret'.
Glad ya'll still got a few Longtailed Prairie Chickens to make the trip worth it.
I'm trying to remember what our conversation in PM's a few months ago was about concerning lab's ...... you were either looking for one or needing some training help. Either way, how's it going ?????
