Softy, I'm curious to know if you also run walleye tournaments on Old Hickory? I use to fish for walleye quite a bit when I was stationed in South Dakota in Angustora Lake...there weren't any bass lakes in the area, but the trout, walleye, and pike made for good substitues...if there really is substitute.

Bill,
To answer your question on Walleyes, I have never heard of a Walleye tournament on any of our lakes even though we do have a good population of Quality Walleyes on several of our lakes. Dale Hollow lake is noted for their fine Walleye fishing, Old Hickory doe have a good population of Walleyes in the river both far up and down below the dam and the best kept secret lake for walleyes in Tennessee is Tims Ford lake in the Southern middle part of our state. I have caught them on Old Hickory and Tims But not on Dale Hollow yet.
Hope I answered your question Bill.
Thanks Softy

Stinkbait,
The SMBCBT is promoted by Flippers Bait and Tackle and has been being performed on Old Hickory lake for about 18 years now. It is probably one of the best operated well organized tournaments you would ever fish. It might surprise you to know thsi this is a weekly event that takes place every Sunday From Mid March through October for 28 weeks with a Classic Fish Off in October which last year produced over $100,000.00 in cash and prizes at the Classic alone not counting the apy outs each week to the winners. It is a membership tournament and this year there are over 500 members and the TX averages between 75 and 100 boats a week. It is a Stratos Boat sponsored tournament which also pays bonus money each week to the winners if they are fishing out of a Stratos Boat. I have been an active member of it since 1988 even though I have not fished any this year due to previous obligations with other less demanding monthly trails and my bait business. Hope I have answered your questions.
thanks Softy
