Got a new boat (well, new to me) 201 pro xl stratos w/225 ETEC HO. Detweiler hydraulic jack plate. Really impressed with the boat fishability and motor power, but can't seem to get it propped right (at least for where I live). Here's what I've tried and their results. 25 pitch powertech 4 blade. Hole shot was really good but rpms not there. Could only turn 5100 here (east tn). Top speed 70 mph gps. Went to a 26 Raker and in low altitude, lake hickory, I could get 5500 rpms with top speed of 75 but came back home and getting about 5100 again. Tried 25 renegade, lots of rpms, but no lift. I am trying to get the best all around prop, decent hole shot and best top end speed which I think with the hydraulic plate should be mid 70's. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If anyone knows of a similar rig and what works for it or has a prop for sale, let me know. Thanks,
SB

Where's home?
Its going to be the 27 tempest or the 26 raker for that boat.

Thanks Mike.. I was wondering if tempest made a 25 pitch. The 26 is great at altitudes out of the mountains but I can't believe the differnce up here (Mountain City, TN). Fish Watauga Lake, South Holston, and Boone a lot! Anyway, I've got access to a 24 raker and a 27 tempest. I may try both of them. Thanks again for the input. Compared to the 26 raker what will the tempest offer/detract? Basically, what are the + and - of each prop...have never run a tempest.

just about everyone around this area is running the 26 Raker on their 225 E-techs and getting max performance out of them and love the motors. I fish with one guy that has a 201 -225 E-Tech and the boat runs extremely well and seems to be able to hold it's own on hole shots and top end with most other boats in that class. He is packing a 27 Tempest in the boat as back up but runs the raker. just my 2 cents
