For fishing poles without hook holders, take an oblong split ring and secure it to the pole with a small tie strap, add a little glue to keep it in place, works great.

I by those rubber ones aT BPS or Academy sports but better buy several packs of them cause they do break. A buddy of mine did show me how to use an off set worm hook to make one. Gamas round bend work best. just cut the hook shank so you have about half the shank and the line tie end. Place the Line tie up away from rod shaft. hold in place with small tie rap and then wrap about ten rounds of braided line around the hook shank and the put a drop of two of Krazy glue on it and remove the tie wrap. I tried it and it works great but I still buy the rubber ones............. To lazy to do all that work I guess................
