I am sure that most of us can still remember the first Bush. He was Ronald Reagan's Vice President for two terms. Then he served one term as President and we got involved in a war over Oil. say what you want but it was over oil more than it was the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq. Hell there have been wars and invasions going on over there since Biblical days but oil was in jeopardy so America and Bush step up. Now the real fuel problem shifted from one gear to another back when Ronald Reagan took office. Within a year after Reagan took office Bush got him to lift the regulations on the oil companies that we put in place my Eisenhower back in the 1950's to help control fuel prices and not let the oil companies run hog wild and pig crazy with gasolene prices. Bush talks Reagan into removing them saying that the oil companies can be trusted to control them selves and keep fuel prices in line. Reagan removes the regulations and signs the bill into law releasing the oil companies of any and all regulations. That was the first of many steps Bush Sr. would make with Reagan at the Helm of the ship. He knew that he was much smarter then Reagan was an was able to manipulate him. Every decision made in those White House years came from Bush's desk for Reagans signature. Bush was responsible for the Iran-Contra scandal but Reagan got the blame for it and Ollie North did the time for it. Ollie North worked for Bush when Bush was the head of the CIA. Other than being the Governor of California Reagan had very little knowledge of Government operations and Bush knew that. I have always said Ronald Reagan played his best role as an actor when he played the role of President of the United States. Problem is he didn't play it in Hollywood, he played it in Washington DC. I had and still have a solitude affection for President Reagan because in his heart he felt that he was doing what was best for the country and really he was playing to a tune strung by Bush. It was only after Bush got in office were the American people able to see him for what he really was and that is why he did not get re-elected. He failed to get the job done when he had the chance in Kuwait and Iraq. He should have went to Iraq and removed Saddam Hussein then while he had a multi national force working together with our armed forces. He dropped that ball and allowed Colon Powell to call it off and hold at the Border. Now you see where we are with another of the Bush Clan in the White House. Again we are fighting over oil. Say what you want but oil is the only reson we went to Iraq. It was not for weapons of mass destruction because Bush knew there was none when he sent out troops in. He had found out that Saddem was trading oil for food to feed his people instead of selling it to America. That was unacceptable to Bush and then came 9/11 and that was the excuse he needed to go after the oil. Saddem Hussein was the leader of Iraq for many years and had fought many wars with his neighbors and America never got involved until OIL became in jeopardy in Kuwait in 1990. Bush says were are staying the course to get the job done for the Iraq's and all he is really doing is securing the oil in Iraq for profit and using American troops for private gain and helping Iran because they no longer have to worry about war with Iraq again. Bush cannot run again and if the American people vote another man to office that has low or no morals he will follow right in Bush's footsteps and also reap the rewards at the expense of dying troops and the American people and probably another 9/11 or maybe more. JMHO
