How many people have been paying attention to what is going on with our soldiers that are coming home from this unpopular war. I have and there are a few things that I think all Americans are failing them just as they have done in the last few wars. We do support them all the time they are over there putting their lives on the line protecting our freedom from terrorists but when they come home it is like they are forgotten. Many of them come back to poor medical attention and financial woes.
Now our Government needs to be held accountable for taking care of these brave men and women. I hear numbers of dollars being spent to fight the war and the billions of dollars being spent to rebuild Iraq's country and I hear many stories of how little to nothing is being spent right here to take care of our troops both going to fight or coming home both mentally and physically disabled. It is my opinion that the money being spent to rebuild Iraq should first be spent taking care of the Soldiers that fought to give Iraq it's freedom and then any money left should be spent rebuilding that country. Our entire veteran program in this country sucks and little thought is given from Washington D.C. on the fact that if it was not for these fighting men and women there would be now Washington D.C. and those people living the fine life in Washington would be also living in poverty. Now as an Amercian concerned over this I do plan on writing to my Senators and Congressmen and women pertaining to my concerns about the treatment of our veterans. I ask that all of you here also take a few minutes to drop a few lines to your elected officials and let them know that with elections coming up in 2008 your going to be watching and listening to see if the ones running for office are planning on doing anything to correct the abuse that our Vets are receiving.
