the internal antenna unit must have a clear view of th sky. if u r mounting in console or behind a windshield or have a center console with top u would need external antenna so it could be mounted away from obstructions.

Thanks for the advice. I was really wanting to put it in the dash but oh well. For the price I cant complain to much. Thanks again!!
