YOU know better GC. Still hating you moved so far away. Glenn for those that don't know is the head womens volleyball coach for USC Aiken. Really great guy. He has a tournie next weekend and won't be able to fish. So I really was just trying to get some good navigation info so I don't tear anything up.

My plans are to run from Soap Creek toward the Russell Dam. This is the area I usually fish. I will have 4-5 hours to be on the lake Friday afternoon. Can anyone with REAL knowledge tell me if you can safely make that run right now? I will takke care of my fishing plans as long as I can make it there. If not, would it be better to go more towards the main lake areas. My e-mail is savwork58@windstream.net if someone would rather give me info offline. Thanks again.

Anyone?? :?:

Billy, most of the timber is now exposed. Just run the buoys until it gets to looking like a road out in the country, or kind of like running Seminole.... I know YOU know what I mean about running Seminole.... only here you'll be able to see the trees. If there are trees upr there, you are in the channel!

I'd help ya Billy, but I usually stay on the bottom end. Lots of stuff just outside the channel markers. I know there are quite a few spots 2' and less on the edge of the channel (and more out of the water).

And remember, the floating channel markers got about 15' of extra chain right now, so most aren't exactly marking the channel where they should be.

From what I've seen, the Navionics chip is very good at marking the humps. Maybe next time they can mark all the standing timber and stumps too!

Yea cidgrad i've found the Navionics chip very helpful as well. However i marked a hump i was planning on fishing and when i got to the waypoint there was no hump there :hmm: but I have only had that happen once other than that its pretty accurate. By the way how is the fishing? I havent been to the hill in over a month.

You are good just keeping the bow aimed at the buoys until you get to where the broad river splits off. If you are going to follow the buoys all the way to the dam, I would suggest idling it and marking a safe route on your gps. Otherwise just head towards the white buoys and let it eat! :-D
