Any news from the hill...water temp, stain, floating trees, etc.?

Anybody braved the cold lately on the hill. Got a tour coming up 2/6/10. Can anyone give some tips on water temps,color, or even some bites. Thanks

met a BULLET brother at the Dorn ramp and did some prop tuning/jackplate adjustment and it was windy and if ya like Yoohoo its right up your ally. We went to SC little river and found a strech to get some 80 mph pass's in (wind shear really was tough ) but it was a few trees floating and with the current it sould be clean by weekend. I didn't fish but the GA river looked stained but fishable the dam area was muddy, parksville was muddy but main river looked stained all from the truck window. the runs in SC little river were on water.

I saw 48 degree water this past Thur but I didnt fish. Hoped to get out today if this rain would ever stop. YooHoo is the water color right now on the SC little river area.

So it 2 weeks ago and it was up and they had the water going, you could see it moving the Channel markers, they were pulling it so fast. Color was red, temp was 43 and later in the day some places was 48. Caught 2 and had one pull off beside the boat. CB lost one, jerk bait landed one and Carolina Rig handled the biggest one, so if I was going again, it would be dragging something SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Hope this helps.

In that team tournament 2 fish that went for just over 5 pounds won, we finished second with 1 fish that went close to 3 pounds. 3rd had one keeper and no one else in tournament caught a fish. Water temp was around 43-45 degrees. This time last year I was catching 15-20 pound sacks every time out. Snow this past friday has the water temp back down to 42-43 degree range when I went out for a little while yesterday. High muddy cold water has the fish a little behind schedule and with a serious case of lockjaw. What really stinks is it took over 20 pounds to win on lake murray with the same cold windy conditions.
