Well we all met up at 4:00 am (?why so early?) to draw the lake for the year-end fish off. For the 2nd year in a row it was Greenwood . We caught 3 nice fish early on the dreaded but somewhat reliable c-rig and things got REAL slow from there. Finally ended up catching 4 more on spoon and 1 on top for a 9.9lb. total. It only took 11+ to win and we ended up 2nd. Seemed like fishing was slow for everyone. Congrats to the winners who only need 3 fish for the win and big fish(5+)! Our rig fish were 18-25' and the spoon bite was 30'. There was lots of bird chasing out there! Kinda fun to watch sometimes.

mariner 13 and me finished 4th with 9.3 and 2nd big fish at 4.8 caught our fish on a crankbait in 2 to 5 feet of water but we just couldn't get that 5th fish caught some short fish on a c-rig and couldn't buy one on a blade spent most of the day up around reeders i think op and op jr was also in the money and the guys that won told me they caught their fish on blades around the dam. congrats to all

Why don't they draw the lake the night before so you can get alittle more sleep if a close lake is drawn?

Sounded like yall had a good time, kept hearing the boats running up and down the lake.

big congrats to phoneman and carl, and backward plug and mariner13. it was an off bite and yall did good to have those strings. dad and i had fifth place with 8lbs and some change. all our fish were in the vicinity of irvines cross cutting the ends of shallow piers with a speed trap. you had to bring the crank btween the crappie brush and the end of the pier to get a bite. the spinnerbait bite def didnt work out for us either.... at all.

went back for that small tx out of the park sunday and had a tougher day. we only boated 6keepers. all they would hit sunday was a finesse worm on a spot remover, or an xrap shad. we took second and big fish only bc i lucked into a 5lber on the crank. the rest of the bag consisted of a 14'' and three 12'' fish. they were way more scattered. and for the most part buried in the brush. again sunday.... absolutely no takers on a jignpig or spinnerbait.

good job on second and big fish sunday they should bite good this week with all this spring/summer heat we are having wish i could get off work thurs i'd be there trying to catch me a big one. i'll see you at the meeting. I may be fishing single next year don't know if jamie will be able to fish at this point may try to find another partner if he can't fish
