hey guys, i got a 1984 200 h.p. mercury and the lower unit is bad. i'm trying to find a good lower unit and i've been told that alot of different models might work on it, but i dont know what will and will not work. my motor runs really well and would like to fix it if it dont cost me a fortune. i've also thought about replacing it with a new or used motor. if anyone has what i need or can help me out on what i need to look for, i will greatly appreciate it. thanks

Hey Keester----there use to be a salvage boat yard around the Anderson area, but I don't know the name of it. Maybe some of you guys from that area can tell him, if it's still there?????? They had about anything you needed at one time. I guess that you are going to make the repairs, yourself?????? My mercury mechanic, is Mackie McKinney (Lake Greenwood), he does good work, at a fair price, and if you need his number, let me know. He rebuilt my 200 Merc' this spring for less than, I could buy the powerhead.

Good Luck----------------Monk
