I bought a 25 HP Johnson tiller control yesterday and it's a 1999 model. Messed around today and got it started but I don't see any way to shut it off. I pulled the e stop plate to shut it off. Got a start pushbutton and a fuel enrichment/chock knob but nothing else to shut it off. Am I missing something. Also wondering if this thing has an alternator to charge the battery. My old Johnson 25 doesn't but this is a much nicer motor than my old one. Joe

The button on the end of the tiller handle is the cut off. Should also have the kill switch on it.
Does have an alternator. I beleive its a 10 amp charging system.

Thanks Micheal, it has the kill switch but the tiller handle end seems like a screwed on thing. I can unscrew it and it gets loose but doesn't come out. I bet that is it so I'll try and figure it out. Thanks, Joe

I'll have to take the handle apart. If there is a button it is jammed or broken. The screwed end doesn't seem to effect the throttle tension so maybe something is broken. Thanks again for the help. Joe

I figured it out Micheal, you push the kill switch button in. with the safty button hooked up to shut it down. Thanks for your help. Joe
