Ive got a 2001 Johnson 225hp that will crank up just fine. It will idle fine. The first time you run it for the day it will run fine. Usually after the first run of the day is when the problem starts. It will crank up fine. It will idle fine, when you put it in gear it will run fine, but when I go to throttle up it will cut off. Hit the switch and it will crank right back up. When it will stay running it is real sluggish getting up on plane. It runs ok when on plane but will not run full speed. It wont cut off but just dont run like it should. The motor sounds fine, not skipping or spitting or any other kind of funny stuff. I have tried cleaning the carburator with carburator cleaner. I used a bottle of Sea Foam Fuel Treatment in it and I always run Star Tron fuel stabilizer in it every time I get fuel. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Thanks,Rusty

Sounds like the carbs need to be pulled and cleaned.
