I was fortunate enough to qualify for the BFL All American in May on the Potomac in DC. I have never fished tidal waters, so want to get a feel for them before I go up there and practice. I've heard some good things about the Cooper River. Any ideas on where to put in and what to expect from the river? Thanks.

Cypress Gardens in probably the best ramp to put in at.. As far as learning how to read the River, you have to look at the tide chart, but if they turn water loose from the Dam then everything changes..

Add 3 to 4 hours to the Charleston tide time and go during the low water times. Easier to run and it will give you more visible targets to chunk at. All of the creeks in the Potomac are silted over. You have to run over some skinny water to get to the holes in the backs of creeks when you get up there if that's what's going on then. Lots different than the Cooper. Good Luck!
