The weather was partly cloudy and chilly. The air temp was 52° and the water was 39° to 41° and rather stained. We fished from 10 AM until about 3PM in the deepest part of the lake near the dam in 12 feet of water.
We caught almost all our fish in this one spot circling around a deep hole. Using blade baits we nailed 8 largemouths and one giant crappie from 2 lbs up to a giant I caught on a crank bait. We had moved off this deep hole and I started fishing a glass shad on a shallow flat when I thought I was hung up in some weeds. When the rod pumped a bit I realized it was a nice 'un. She went almost 6 lbs on my hand scale.
All in all not a bad Saturday. I'm back to Hartwell next week but after catching these fish here, I'm not sure why! LOLStatistics: Posted by BassPRO — Tue Jan 08, 2008 4:41 pm
