Sounds like you've got Interfering Cone angles Look at it like a upside down Ice cream cone the deeper you get the closer the beams get together and each unit will read the other if they are both on the same Frequency. Have you notice when you get around other boats with depthfinder on you will get interferance sometimes. Most bass boats run on around 50 to 80 khz low to 150 to 180 khz. Hi Could try changing one to low side and other to hi side or you may be running on dual beam low and hi on one or both units. Don't know as much on lowrance as I do on birds. The shorter the boat the more the will interfer. The one ont he Bow needs to be on trolliong motor and the one on the Consol needs to be on the Stearn as far back as possable.

I am having the same thing on my 858 on the trolling motor. Do you happen to know what can be done to get it to stay locked on to the bottom when you hit the button the trolling motor?[/quote]

Yours may be loosing Ground. Run a groundwire from the motor to the ground curcuit of your boat.
