Prize Fund – An equal amount to the big fish payout will be put aside to use toward prizes at the end of the year. Thanks to our sponsors we will have a jon boat and other prizes to give away at the last tournament to the lucky angler who has the most points and has fished five or more tournaments. Prizes will awarded based on total points earned from the individual’s five best tournaments.

RULES

All rules will remain the same throughout the year. The tournament directors will interoperate any and all rules and his\her decision is final.

1. FEES - All entry fees are to be paid by 6:00am the morning of the tournament. Membership fee will be $15.00 per year and must be paid by each angler prior to first entered event.
2. TIMES -Tournament Hours- All tournaments will begin at 6:15am. We will meet at McFerrin’s Caper House and collect entry fees the morning of the tournament. All entrants will check in at McFerrin’s Caper House for weigh-in by 12:00 noon. The official time will be announced at each of the morning registration meetings. It is the responsibility of each angler to obtain this information from one of the tournament directors and adjust his/her time accordingly.
3. SPORTSMANSHIP - Any contestant who displays poor sportsmanship, violates these rules or violates the state fishing laws may be disqualified. This includes conduct on and off the water including conduct in and around the host facilities for any event including hotels, retail establishments, etc. Misconduct is a bad reflection on organized fishing. Misconduct may be deemed as an infraction of our sportsmanship rule and is grounds for disqualification from any event and/or exclusion from membership Small Waters Bass Club.
4. PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY - Participation is open to all members of Small Waters Bass Club. Membership in Small Waters Bass Club is open to everyone; However, Small Waters Bass Club reserves the right to refuse membership and to refuse participation in Small Waters Bass Club events to anyone.
6. SAFETY - All boats must be suitable for the safety of the anglers. Safe boating shall be observed at all times. Anyone found operating a boat in an unsafe manner in the opinion of the Tournament Director(s) may be disqualified. All boats must have a float cushion on board. The use of combustible engines is not allowed. Each contestant is responsible to have proper safety equipment. It is not the responsibility of Small Waters Bass Club or any tournament sponsor to provide assistance in on-the-water repairs or rescues at any time. Each contestant shall provide their own on-the-water assistance if needed. Small Waters Bass Club and its sponsors are not responsible to assure that any contestant has returned at the end of any contest. For safety, each contestant should inform another contestant as to the location(s) that they will be fishing and have that contestant check to assure that the other contestant has returned safely at the end of the contest and have a plan for assistance if needed.
7. PERMITTED FISHING METHODS AND TACKLE - All fish must be caught live in a conventional and sporting manner. All fish must be caught during the announced tournament times. Trolling, also referred to as ripping / sweeping or jerking, is prohibited. Cast and retrieve methods of ripping and jerking are legal. Only artificial lures may be used with the exception of pork rind or deer hide. No prepared or live bait may be used. The intentional snagging of fish is strictly prohibited. Landing nets are permitted in Small Waters Bass Club events. Only one “rod and reel” may be used at a time. Rods may not exceed 8 feet in length.

8. PERMITTED FISHING WATERS - Contestants may fish in any small body of water that they have permission to fish in. It is the sole responsibility of the anglers to gain access and permission to do so. A small body of water is defined as one that is less than 50 acres in size and must not be feed by a major tributary or that is commonly known as a river.

9. Culling - You may have more than 5 fish in your possession; however you may only bring 5 fish to the scales. All culling must be done before you approach the scales.

10. Penalties - Each creel will be penalized for each dead fish at the rate of .20 lbs per fish. This also applies to big fish weights. Late arrivals to weigh in will be penalized at a rate of one pound per minute. After 15 minutes the late arrivers will be disqualified for the event. At least one of the team members must report to the weigh-in, with the creel, for the catch to count.

11. Liability - Small Waters Bass Club, its sponsors and associates will not be responsible for any accidents or injury sustained by any participant. By paying your entry fee you acknowledge understanding of and agreement to these rules.

12. Point System – Each angler will have points that will follow them through the tournament season. Points will be awarded by finishing place and weight. First place will be awarded 30 points plus weight, Second place will be awarded 29 points plus their weight, etc. Points will be awarded to each person in a team. You may fish with another person in another tournament and carry your points will you.

13. Polygraph – Prize winners will be polygraphed and must be present at finial weigh-in. Failure of polygraph will disqualify participant.
