The boss, 4 year old daughter, and me got on the lake at 6AM. Motored pass Compton bridge buzzing but nada. Slow rolled blade and picked up a nice chunky 2+# bumping stumps about 7AM. Tried the new frog but nada, wondering if those things even work. 745AM picked up a nice 3+ # same as previous slow rolled blade bumping stumps. Went quiet till 915AM had a nice 5+ # on until it jumped and spit my blade out, bit same style as previous 2 fishes. 1 more other bite but never connected. All fish caught came on main red hook not the trailer. Water stained past I26 and not sure what water temps were. Not much traffic on the lake yesterday. Called it a morning exactly at 10AM.

I too fished Sat. am. 7-11. Covered alot of water. 10 min. before calling it a day caught a 3#er off a laydown near 26 bridge., water temp was 73. Could you give me some details as to where those stumps are near Comptom Bridge?

hooked, we probably passed each other at one point. I26 is always hot for me, anybody can spend 1 hour their and come up with keepers. The stumps are on the right after Compton, pass the last dock. Some are sitting in 8 ft., some 5ft., some 3ft., etc... It's a long stretch of them. That pattern has worked sevral times in the past for me. Once pulled out a 5+, 6+, and 7+ on blade bumping the stumps all in 15 min. Hope this helps.

Cool , thanks. I ran across them earlier in the summer but couldn't remember exactly where. I plan to take a neighbor kid Sat. and thought about hitting them on the way to the pads.
Thanks again.

All my years fishing Bowen I've never managed any fish in the pads. Do they even hang out their. I've spent over 8 hours one day back then pitching jigs, floating worms, tubes, TR platics, and the other day a frog for the firt time without any luck. Any advice on them pads would help plenty.

Yeah, I've aways had good success there. That first bouye to the bank (point) just to the left is a log jam that I've caught real good fish. That first group of pads there on the inside edge between the pads and the bank counter clockwise all the way around until you get to the outside where it pockets in have been real good for me. I use a t-rig worm throw to every point and indention that those pads make. Across from that those pads near the pontoon boats and houses, I start just after the boat path or cut, up the path 10 ft. and then back down again working the outside edge with a worm and spinnerbait. I've caught 5-6 lbers at both those pads. haven't much success with the others though. I hope that makes sense.
I throw past the points the pads make and get bit as it comes past the point.
For the indentions, I throw about a foot into the pads and bring it out and get bit.
