I'm actually looking for a unit like this. I've been told however that lowrance has had problems with the 300 series. Can anyone verify if this is true? I'm just scared to buy a used unit in this series after hearing that. I guess this question would be for someone like Mike who I'm sure knows a lot more than me. Anyone?

the 300 series was fine. Its just an analog system where the 500 series is digital. Makes it a bit faster & has a little bit better navigation..
