Well I got the johnboat out about 2 weeks ago and got it running in a bucket. Everything seemed fine so I took it to the river today to try it out. Put in above the 99 Island dam at the remote landing on Pond Road. Water in the river was stained with 12 inch visibility and 82 degrees. The backwater lakes had more stain and was 85 degrees. I went from the 99 Island dam almost to Cherokee Falls. Several new houses being built. Threw a plastic bait for awhile but while I got some bumps I caught nothing. Only stayed a couple hours max. RM

Hey Thar RM, I have friend that was raised up in Union, SC and he keeps refering to this 99 Island on the Broad River and that we need to take my 20 ft Javelin up there and do some small mouth fishing. I hate to pull a boat that big all the way from Sumter, if I can't fire up my Rude 200 and run up and down the river. He says there is about a two miles stretch that we could actually run the big motor the rest would be on the trolling motor. I am not really confident that this is really a good idea but he says he has seen guys launching bass boats up the several times. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Ron

Rude I wouldn't bring that beast all the way up here because its to rocky downstream and the area above the dam isn't worth that long ride.

Thanks RR, had a feeling all wasn't Kosher. We took a trip a while back to FLorida to stay in a nice double wide and it turned out to be a double sided camping trailer. Much appreciate the advice. Ron
