I like running JohnRude oil in my Johnsons ......XD-50 in the Johnson 200 since it's still got a OMS and XD-25 in the Johnson 25 due to it being mixed gas.
I like running Stihl oil in my Stihl chainsaws......but I do run it in my Echo weedeater.
My dad always ran Yamalube in his Pro-V 150 YamaDog, JohnRude TCW, TCW II and TCW III in all his Johnsons (4 to the best of my knowledge) except his Johnson 15 that he's got now and runs XD-25. Chainsaws and weedeaters got whatever he got his hands on, but he always tried to get some kind of name brand like Echo, Sthil, Huskvarna, John Deere, etc.
I think most name brands have a good oil.
I believe in the world of 2 stroke engines there are basically 2 kinds ........the ones that ARE BLOWN and the ones that ARE ABOUT TO BLOW. LOL ! ! ! !
Merc makes great oil........I ran Merc Premium Plus for the first year I had my 200 due to I was able to buy it cheap at the time and Merc oil had a carbon eliminator in it then like Jonh Rude does now. If I had a Merc I would try to run Merc oil .......but I'm weird like that !

Yep,
Premium Plus would be a great choice for your new XR6 it's available about anywhere too.

Jim,
I'd run XD-100 BRP oil in yours you can get it in Bulk from Lee's marine for less than $30./gal if you bring your own jug. The DI sips oil and the XD-100 flows better in the winter months. CM

Slightly less. I don't want to publish the price. Shelf price is $32.95/ gal.
